The SLHS boy's cross country team had a strong 3rd place showing in their varsity race at their home invitational. In addition to their third place team award, they also grabbed 2 individual medals.
Leading the way for the Gator guys was sophomore Trevor Smith dipping under 18 minutes with a personal record (PR) 17:57. His performance earned him the 9th place medal. Also medalling was senior Ryan Seberg running an 18:37 for 15th place. The varsity team also saw PRs from freshman Eli Student (19:44) and sophomore Kendall Kinnard (20:18).
On the JV side, the Gator boys ran to a 4th place finish. Senior Logan Michalicek claimed a medal from that race running 20:42 for 15th. Other JV highlights were PRs from sophomores Robbie Nelson (21:44) and Gabe Bosse (30:11), as well as freshmen Luke Larsen (22:15), Gordy Saur (22:19), Cody DeWitt (22:04) and Nathanial Kregar (22:04).
SLHS Cross Country will be hitting the race course next Monday at the Denver North Viking Invitiational.

The men's soccer team put up their third straight win, with a 4-0 victory over Holy Family HS. The Gators dominated possession throughout the game. Nick Rosser ('16) scored before and after halftime. Ryan Player ('17) put in the second goal, with Senior Captain Adam Williams putting in the fourth and final goal of the night. Goalkeepers Kevin Griebel ('16) and Austin Campbell ('18) combined for a clean sheet for the Gators.
Your Gators play next on Tuesday, September 16th, at 6pm, at the NAAC, where they will open league play against Conifer. Come out and cheer on your Gators!!!

Your JV Softball team took on the Green Mountain Rams in the league opener. In the 1st, the Rams scored on a walk, error and single. In the bottom of the 1st, the Gators plated 6 with Taylor Zangari starting it off with a single. Taylor VanDyke was hit by a pitch, Chantell Gordy-George got an RBI single. Kaitlyn Startnes singled, Montana Odgers reached on a flyball to center mishandled by the Rams. Abby Sisk, Jackie Paik, and Myranda Thrash walked and it was 6-1. In the top of the 2nd, Taylor VanDyke got her 3rd and 4th strikeouts to help keep the Rams from answering. In the bottom of the 2nd, Kaitlyn Barnes blasted a triple to left to bring in Darian Hausman and Chantelle Gordy-George. Abby Sisk drove in Montana Odgers who had walked with a productive groundout, and it was 10-1. In the bottom of the 3rd, the Gators got a single by Myranda Thrash, and then 8 of the next 9 batters walked helping to plate 7 more. Taylor VanDyke closed out the 4th inducing a flyball corralled by Chantelle Gordy-George and her 6th and 7th strikeouts to seal the win. Freshman pitcher, Taylor VanDyke notched her 1st JV win with a solid performance surrending only 1 run on 1 hit. The Gators record goes to 1-4, 1-0 in the league.
