Tyler Williams '19 made it three for three for the Gators by placing 5th in the State Track Meet today with a school record breaking run of 48.81 seconds.  The previous record was 49.15 set by Jason Mizak in 1997 (!!!)

Williams brings the Gator State medal count to three medals in the three events for which they qualified.  Garrett Martin '18 placed second yesterday in the high jump and the Girl's 4X800 relay of Anna Nelson '17, Veronica Petrillo '18, Emma Abernethy '17 and Savannah Martin '18 placed 8th in their race.

Even better news for the Gators?  All these athletes will be back next year.

Garrett Martin '18, the lone Gator competing at the State Track Meet today, followed the momentum set by his five teammates yesterday and place 2nd in the High Jump setting a personal best effort of 6-6.5ft.  His 2nd place jump matched that of the winner, Jacob Bejarano of Roosevelt, but Martin ended up in 2nd place due to missed attempts.

The State Track Meet wraps up tomorrow at the Jeffco Stadium.  Tyler Williams '19 will run in the 400M final after qualifying out of prelims yesterday.  Assuming he finishes, Williams will be guaranteed a medal as well.
